Upload a resume

  1. Upload a PDF from the dashboard or Resume Lab.
  2. BoardingPass stores the file securely and uses it for parsing and review.

Workspaces

Resume Lab has three main workspaces:

WorkspacePurpose
OverviewHealth scores, summary, strengths, priorities, bullet suggestions
EvidenceStructured inventory from your PDF vs your profile
ResumesGenerate drafts, tailor for jobs, writing helpers

Review flow (Evidence)

When you run Review resume, BoardingPass extracts evidence into sections:

  • Education
  • Skills
  • Experience
  • Projects

Each item is labeled against your profile:

  • Already in profile
  • Missing — not yet on your dashboard
  • Possible duplicate

Include in resume

Toggle include/exclude on each evidence item. Only selected items feed into generation — keeping drafts grounded in real content.

Add to profile

For missing items, use Add to profile to prefill dashboard forms. Review before saving to avoid duplicates.

Overview scores

The Overview workspace shows:

  • Clarity — how easy the resume is to scan
  • Impact — how strongly results and outcomes come through
  • Alignment — how well details support your overall story

You also get an overall summary, strengths, top priorities, and improved bullet suggestions.

Run Review again after uploading a new PDF.

Generate an improved version

From the Resumes workspace:

  1. Confirm evidence selections in the Evidence tab.
  2. Click Generate improved version.
  3. Edit the draft in the rich text editor — heading styles, body text, draft name.
  4. Save version — stored in your saved resumes panel.

Generated drafts are ATS-friendly and built from profile + selected evidence only.

Job-specific tailoring

Tailor a resume for a particular role using one of three modes:

ModeWhen to use
Saved jobPick an application from Tracker
Job linkPaste a posting URL (uses cached summary when available)
Job roleTitle only — lower-confidence tailoring

Steps

  1. Choose a mode and click Analyze target job.
  2. Review the role summary, keywords, skills, and responsibilities.
  3. Check evidence recommendations (Strong match / Supporting / Secondary / Minimize) — advisory only.
  4. Generate tailored draft and edit before saving.

Application writing drafts

Resume Lab can also draft:

  • Cover letter
  • Why this role
  • Why this company
  • Short answer responses

Saved tailored drafts show target role/company badges and link back to tracker entries when applicable.

The saved panel lists:

  • Documents — uploaded PDFs
  • Drafts — generated or edited versions

Preview works for both. Load into editor works for drafts only (not raw PDFs).
