Background
Founders and PMs get 90 seconds in elevators, demo days, and recruiter coffee chats. A tight pitch deck trains narrative discipline: one idea per slide, one metric that matters.
Your mission
Build a pitch deck of 6 slides or fewer for a product you believe in (startup concept, BoardingPass, campus project, or nonprofit tool). Optimize for under 90 seconds spoken delivery.
Required slide arc
| # | Slide | Content |
|---|
| 1 | Hook / Problem | Pain in one sentence + who feels it |
| 2 | Insight | Why now? What changed in the world? |
| 3 | Solution | What you built or will build — demo visual |
| 4 | Traction or plan | Users, revenue, MVP milestone, or 90-day roadmap |
| 5 | Team | Why you — 1 photo or logo row, relevant credibility |
| 6 | Ask | Investment, pilot partner, users, or feedback — be specific |
Requirements
- ≤6 slides — title slide counts if it adds hook; no appendix required.
- Speaker notes — full script timed to 75–90 seconds; export as PDF.
- One hero metric per slide — big number or bold stat (e.g. "3 tabs → 1 dashboard").
- Consistent visual system — 2 fonts max, aligned grid, high contrast.
- Oral-first — minimal bullet walls; headlines carry the story.
Evaluation criteria
- Clarity — stranger understands problem + solution after one read-through.
- Pacing — script fits 90s without rushing; no slide needs >20s.
- Credibility — traction or plan feels plausible, not hand-wavy.
- Design — legible from 10 feet; no 8pt body text.
Tips
- Record yourself on Loom; cut any slide you stumble on twice.
- Problem slide: name the user ("final-year CS students") not "everyone".
- End with one memorable line, not "thank you" only.
