Evaluate student work via the Judging Portal at /partner/judging or the legacy Evaluate tab at /partner/challenges/{id}/submissions.
Judging Portal (recommended)
The Judging Portal is a judge-first surface with two modes:
Online judging
Route: /partner/judging/[challengeId]/online
For async review of submissions. Each judge sees their assigned queue with embedded artifacts — write-ups inline, YouTube links as video players, and Google Docs / Drive / PDF links as document previews (plus “open in new tab”). Questionnaire answers and team details stay available beside the sticky rubric panel.
- Desktop-first; mobile-responsive
- Score status: Save only · Save & shortlist · Mark winner (leads) · Reject
In-person / live judging
Route: /partner/judging/[challengeId]/live
For demo days and pitch events. Score-sheet-first — artifacts are hidden by default. Look up a team by short code or name, then enter rubric scores using large stepper controls.
- Tablet and phone optimised
- Find teams by 6-character code or name search
- Session mode: event leads can activate a live session which triggers the minimal live chrome for all judges
Legacy Evaluate tab
The original Evaluate tab (/partner/challenges/{id}/submissions) remains active for power users and admins. It renders all partner-visible submissions with the full rubric panel and is the current export surface. A Judging Portal link in the challenge sub-nav takes you directly to the mode landing.
Steps (online judging)
- Open Judging in the org portal navigation.
- Select a challenge → Online review.
- Pick a submission from the queue.
- Review artifacts and score each rubric criterion.
- Save scores (optionally shortlist or reject).
Steps (live / in-person judging)
- Open Judging → challenge → Live scoring.
- Enter the team's short code or search by name.
- Score each rubric criterion using the stepper controls.
- Save and move to the next team.
Rubric scoring
Use consistent scoring so students understand expectations. Comments should be actionable — what was strong, what to improve.
